Website access
When you open the website, the technical providers used to deliver and secure it may process request data. This can include the IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and operating system information, referring page and technical status data.
This processing is necessary to display the website, maintain reliable operation and protect it against misuse. Technical logs are retained according to the providers’ security and operating schedules and are deleted or anonymised when they are no longer required.
Our website analytics
With your consent, we use a first-party analytics system to understand how the website is found and how interested guests move through it. It records:
- the time, sequence and language of pages viewed during the current visit;
- the previous page within Alps Always;
- the general source, medium and campaign, where available from the referring page or UTM link;
- the device category: mobile, tablet or desktop;
- the approximate country as a country code, if supplied by the website-delivery infrastructure; and
- clicks leading to an Airbnb or Booking.com listing, including the platform and apartment.
A random session identifier connects these events during the current browser session. It does not contain your name or email address and is not used to recognise you during a later visit. We do not store IP addresses in our own analytics system, use fingerprinting or create a persistent visitor or device profile.
Your analytics choice is stored locally in your browser for up to six months so that we can remember it. If you consent, the random session identifier, original traffic source and page sequence are held in session storage until the browser session ends. These technologies are used for analytics only after you select “Allow analytics”.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through “Privacy settings”. Withdrawal stops future analytics events. Detailed session journeys are retained for no longer than twelve months. Daily aggregated statistics are retained for no longer than 24 months and are then deleted automatically.
We use these insights to improve the website, understand which communication channels are useful and evaluate interest in our apartments. A click to an external booking platform can be measured, but Airbnb or Booking.com does not currently return the subsequent booking outcome to this analytics system.
Service providers
The website is operated with ChatGPT Sites from OpenAI. Cloudflare infrastructure supports technical delivery and the storage of journey and aggregated analytics data. Our public email address is operated by Hostpoint AG in Switzerland. These providers process data only as needed to supply, secure and maintain their services.
Hostpoint operates its email infrastructure in Switzerland. OpenAI and Cloudflare may process data in particular in Switzerland, Ireland, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and the United States. Because the delivery infrastructure is global, technical data may also be processed temporarily at the nearest network location.
For transfers to countries without a recognised adequate level of data protection, safeguards provided by law are used where required. These include recognised standard contractual clauses and, for transfers to the United States where applicable, certifications under the relevant data privacy frameworks.
Further information is available in the providers’ notices: OpenAI privacy policy, Cloudflare privacy policy and Hostpoint legal information.
Email contact
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message and any booking-related details, to respond to your request. Please do not send sensitive information unless it is necessary.
Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the request and any resulting relationship, and afterwards only where legitimate documentation or legal retention requirements apply.
External platforms
Links to Airbnb, Booking.com, Instagram and Facebook open websites operated by those providers. Their own privacy terms apply from the moment you follow the link. We do not embed social-media feeds, social plug-ins or booking widgets on this website.
Bookings and payments are currently completed on Airbnb or Booking.com, not on the Alps Always website. The selected platform is responsible for the data it collects during that process.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you may request information about personal data concerning you and ask for inaccurate data to be corrected or data to be deleted. Further rights may apply depending on your location, including objection, restriction and data portability.
Send privacy requests to hello@alpsalways.com. We may need appropriate information to verify your identity before responding.
You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Where EU, EEA or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.
Where the EU or EEA General Data Protection Regulation or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, consent is the legal basis for the optional journey analytics. Processing for secure website operation and communication is based on our legitimate interests; processing requested before a potential booking is also based on steps taken at your request.
We do not make solely automated decisions or create profiles that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.
Changes
We may update this notice when the website, its service providers or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page.
